Mill stock to 1 1/2″ thick before ripping. Assumes 1/8″ kerf; board feet are figured on rough stock 1/4″ over the milled section, plus your 15% waste allowance — buy the allowance in each species.
Cut-list math matches the end-grain cutting board calculator — same kerf, planing, trim, and waste model. Pricing uses the hardwood dealer’s unit; see the board foot calculator for how board feet are billed.
